15 Dec 08 Rome (pics from last month)
I recently returned from my R&R and am catching up with blog updates. Below are some of my pics from my short stop in Rome. If you like statues of neked guys (and who doesn't!-LOL), then go to Rome! My friend Ken and I went to the Vatican on Saturday and the Coliseum on Sunday. Needless to say, tourists were everywhere. Below are some pics of both as well as a pic of some grafitti (which is EVERYWHERE). Also Rome is a very old city but the oldest manmade object in Rome is not even Roman nor Greek. The oldest manmade object is an oblisk the Ceasar took (bought, was given) from Egypt and is over 4,000 years old and stands in the courtyard of the Vatican. Just about all of the pics below have quite a bit of history behind them such as the oblisk. If you go to Rome it worth it to take a tour to hear much of this history. So now I can again say I've been to Rome within the last 10 years (and don't have to go back for another 10 years!)
