Above is a 'business' card that received 'in jest' from one of the new incoming officers where I work. Needless to say, there are a lot of Army personnel (both officer and enlisted) who really think quite highly of themselves. Still though, they generally don't hold a candle to 'SF' (Special Forces) who have their own housing compound and dining facility. Most (if not all) of the security details here in Iraq are civilian (although around 80% ex-military) personnel. They too have a 'holier-than-thou' 'tude' and so it was no surprise to see that Blackwater is again in the news this morning for many of its personnel taking or having taken 'drugs' (ie steroids). In a hyper-masculine environment you tend to look for every edge you can find. This is also a wild-west sort of environment. In an add twist, I found out that the 'stabber' of the knife fight is still here on base as they (the authorities) are still trying to determine what (if?) the stabber can be charged with any crime! The stabbee went home (ie got fired) since he was drunk as well.

On another note, I saw a pretty damn good movie the other night with a friend. It was a long movie and was hard to follow at times but with some direction it made sense and was the first movie I'd seen in quite a while! The main character was this Army guy about 6'2, 230 or so and he goes on this mission. For the life of me I don't recall the title of the movie but I'll probably watch the movie again in about a week or so.

So did you watch the movie again? The one with the 6'-2", 230 lb army guy on a mission? "The Marine" with John Cena, perhaps? Inquiring minds want to know....
